Hi Logan!
Thanks HEAPS, on all counts! I'd love to see the source, even without the upload score module (though why anyone would want to "cheat" with it is a mystery to me... it's not like you win anything!). I'm really curious about some aspects, and would also love to try making a small Zafehouse mod or two for my own use.
On the subject of the score upload, however... I finally "won" (after several attempts... that last swarm is a killer!) the game, but when I submitted my score (more to see how it worked than because it was that great), I got a "an error has been encountered in core" and got stuck in an endless loop of trying to "resubmit score". I don't know if this is a bug, but if it isn't (and just something I didn't set up right first), perhaps it would be an idea to add an "abort" button as well as a "retry" one for submitting, so that the user doesn't need to shut down Zafehouse to end the loop?
I think the name change idea is neat... would be cool to see it as an option for a future version.
Oh, since this is the "suggestions" board, my only other major ones so far are (and only the first is something I really want):
1) I really wish I could search for survivors OR weapons, not both! Would four "search party options" be too much of a pain to implement at this stage? Common sense makes me think Survivors, Weapons & Ammo, Supplies, Water & Medicine as the most realistic options, but I'd just be pleased with not being given extra survivors when I just wanted a gun. :)
2) IMO, the "events" scroll rather too fast to read as they go... I very much appreciate having the "resolve" button to speed things up, but I wonder if by default it wasn't more "turn-based"... ie normally you get an event, click "next" and it scrolls along... OR press "resolve" and it just speedily scrolls them all.
3) Probably too tough to do, but a "save" (even if it's a "auto-deletes your save after loading" type) would be VERY useful... Zafehouse is - IMO - fantastic as used as a "casual" game (eg to play instead of solitaire at work!) but being forced to complete it all in one go (and it's not short) is what prevents this. I appreciate though that given you're working on a sequel, adding this may be more work than you'd want to put in.
Anyway, again given this game is rather old and a sequel is in the works, I understand if you're only doing minor tweaks to it (Deadshed sounds pretty darn cool, though I am a bit sad to read a few posts about it hinting it will be less survival-themed), but just thought I'd add my two-cents as someone who just discovered (and loves) it!
Cheers, Banjo
