Ok, as said in a previous post, I MIGHT (but am not sure) work a bit on the code. But I wondered how I should rename the new software. As it would have been touched by someone else than the original author, small changes might bring a big change in the game philosophie. So it is worth showing that it is not exactly the same game.

I was considering using Zafehouse 1.8f01, to express that the original code comes from Zafehouse 1.8, and that it is the first version modified by me...

What do you think ?

Hey flap,

Very happy to hear you've taken an interest in Zafehouse, especially the source code. Many of the suggestions you mentioned in your other post sound great.

Regarding your question about naming conventions, I'd highly renaming the title of the game and starting from 1.0. For example, "ZH Plus" or "ZafeMod" - so people do not confuse the two projects.

Otherwise, I wish you all the best. If you have any questions about the game or source, just let me know.

Ok !
As the first think that I will change is the infection process, I might go to a "Zafehouse infection" for the game. The .exe and .zip will be called "zinfection.xxx".

I first need to get a good connection on my pc to install the VB IDE and study a bit the code. And yes once I'll have done that I might come back with some questions. Anyway, my first few trials will be quite simple changes, and what I think are interface improvements (sortable survivor list, and more information on the survivor window, the remember who he is...).

Then If I still have the juice, I might go to more elaborate changes that I talked aout earlier.

Tell you what flap, if you make a decent amount of changes and I'm generally happy with them, I don't see why we couldn't merge them into the main branch. I'm not making any promises, but I thought I should put the suggestion out there.

At the very least, I can host the modified game on Zafehouse.com.

Thank you, nice proposal. But, first, we should see what I can do...

Ok, Microsoft Visual Express edition is installed, your version of Zafehouse compiles, and I start browsing your source. For the next 2 weeks I plan to give 3 hours per day. Should be enough to do a bit of something.

By the way, would you be Australian ?

Ha ha, yes, I currently reside in Australia, but I'm a native of New Zealand.

Have fun with the code. Look forward to seeing what you come up with.
